We just launched a new facebook page, too. Feel free to give us a “like”.

Strymon Mobius was unveiled today! Strymon has slowly been taking over the hifi boutique guitar pedal market for the last 4 years. This is definitely a much needed improvement to the Modulation multi fx pedal world. I’m hoping to expand my collection of Strymon pedals soon!

Listening to some good tracks today.

Listening to some good tracks today.

Eventide is here!

Finally, Blake Mundell’s new album Eventide is here! It’s been a long time coming, but the wait is over. I’m so proud to have worked on this project. I’d like to share with you some samples of my favorite moments from the album on my work page. If you like what you hear, feel free to head on over to Blake’s Website and pick up a copy of the CD for yourself!

The song is called “Provider”, and it is available for free this week only on NoiseTrade.com. You should grab a box of tissues before you listen to the track because because it will probably bring you to tears. Oh, and you might even need a few hand towels if you decide to read his digital memoir, Little Mountain. It is a compelling, honest telling of his story and how it has shaped his music. It is fabulously written, and I highly recommend reading it! If you’re interested, make sure you start at Chapter 1.

I’m so excited that the album is scheduled to drop in April! I’ll post more reflections on the making-of once it is released.

I was so honored when I was contacted by Gibson Guitar Company to teach on their new line of instructional videos for Gibson.com. It is a new series that focuses on how to play popular songs on the guitar. We entered into the first round of filming in June, and my first video is now up on their website! So here’s me teaching how to play “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley. But make sure you catch it soon because it’s only up for a limited time. You can find more of the instructional videos here.

We’ve already laid the foundation for the whole record, and now we are focusing on two singles that we will release very soon! We’ve been spending long days in the studio, but it’s been so much fun. I’ve had such a great time working with Blake, Paul Eckberg, David Labruyere, and Tony Lucido. I’m so grateful for all of the musical talent that has gone into making this record solid! We should have a final release date within the next couple of weeks. Check back soon!

I performed this piece when I was still studying classical guitar in music school. I don’t study classical anymore, but it’s nice to re-live the memory!

We’ve finally hit our stride with these recordings, and they’re starting to take shape beautifully. This is my favorite part of the record making process because all of the creative blocks have been shattered, and our ideas are flowing rapidly. It’s such a privilege to work with an artist like Ross and players like Shawn and Kevin who bring such stellar ideas to the table. It’s like a heavenly trifecta of creative torrents. Thanks guys for making this night such a blast.

Kevin Twit and the kind folks of Indelible Grace Music, whose mission is to resurrect old hymn texts by setting them to new music. The IG hymns speak into the depths of my heart in ways that a majority of modern church music simply cannot. I am so thankful for Kevin’s commitment to IG Music, as he has helped so many people understand the Gospel, and he has given so many more a heart for the historic Christian faith.

This past summer, IG hosted a hymn sing at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. They filmed and recorded the event in hopes to make a live DVD and CD. A couple of months later, they launched a Kickstarter to fund the project, and their backers contributed nearly twice IG’s financial goal. This overwhelming success made for an exciting DVD and CD release. Both are now available in the IG online store, and the CD is also available on iTunes. I was privileged to edit the raw recordings for the CD, and I recorded the voice overs for the DVD at my studio. I hope that you will check it out!

Thanks,
